The café takes "suspension amid mountains" as its design concept. Shaped like a hot air balloon, the building perches lightly atop the highest point of the terraces. Serving as a visual centerpiece, it blends into the mountain scenery through transparent materials, avoiding becoming an abrupt symbol that disrupts the natural texture. Visitors are no longer mere check-in tourists rushing to snap photos. Instead, they can slow down and, with elevated altitude and panoramic views, perceive the grandeur of geological evolution, the profundity of terrace farming, and the tension between coexisting nature and industry.Rejecting the internet-famous logic of designing spaces solely for staged photos, this site does not deliberately create setups for posing. Its core experience lies in immersive overlook viewing. Within the space enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass, guests may enjoy a signature mountain coffee. When they look up, layered terraces stretch out like folds of the earth, Taihang peaks emerge and vanish amid mist, while the silhouette of the distant quarry harmonizes with faint glimmers from the stargazing campsite.Material selection is key to forging an emotional bond between architecture, the site and local culture. For this design, the Dika team shuns high-energy imported materials and draws on local construction raw materials from Yuntai Mountain. These stones echo the geological wonders in hue and carry forward age-old building traditions through their texture.The fluidity of outdoor rituals lies in the rhythm of alternating interactions with visitors. Nestled within the wild natural landscape formed by terraces, guests can also embrace modern relaxation softened by gentle ambient light.
