In the cultural tourism project of Yuntai Mountain Quarry Renewal, Dika Architectural Design Center starts from regarding the site as a “pre-existing landform”. Through restrained and clear architectural intervention, it re-establishes the relationship between humans and the quarry. Rather than attempting to impose a new identity on the quarry, the project adapts to the landform and enables this industrial leftover space to be continuously interpreted and utilized.

Instead of creating a new order, it awakens the native essence. The raw power of the quarry emerges naturally, restoring the primordial bond between humans and the earth. Within the rugged industrial relics, visitors may rediscover the purest sense of place resonance.

Taking the quarry as a pre-existing landform as its core premise, the design preserves the site’s original industrial texture and geological authenticity while embedding lightweight futuristic structures and surreal visual installations. The rough rock walls and stepped quarry terraces serve as a natural backdrop for futuristic aesthetics. Technological intervention acts as a medium connecting people with the landform, the present with the future. Ultimately, an immersive public landform space is created, featuring geological memory, surreal experience and futuristic exploratory quality.
